Mommy Promises & Cozy Book Hop

When I was pregnant with my first I was all about talking to my belly, playing music for the growing baby, you know all that stuff doctors say help the baby to develop and such. One of the many things I did was read books to my unborn little guy. I wish I could say I did that with my second, but with a toddler to chase, well...

Anyway one of the books I read that first time around was Mommy Promises by Julie Stiegemeyer. This is a book that spoke to me as a soon-to-be mommy more than I think it ever will for my little ones. It talks about the things that mommies promise to do as they raise their little ones.

This book is very Christian as it talks about the promises of God being perfect and a goal that mommies are working towards. Also I would guess the author is Catholic (just a guess- or maybe the illustrator?) as the page about baptism shows an infant getting baptized.

I think this would be a great shower gift for a first-time mommy as it is a great book to set up a goal to strive for as mommies try to raise their little ones. Plus it's a nice bedtime story that explains that mommies (and daddies) are trying very hard to raise their kids, but only God's love and promises are perfect.

And now it's time for my favorite time of the week - Cozy Book Hop! Basically it's a blog hop to share any and all posts about books and reading. Link up kids books, fiction,  non-fiction, ways to teach little ones to read, to love to read - your favorite book, your current read, or a book you are just dying to talk about with some friends!

Please link to your post, not your blog (I want to know what you are into this week!). I would appreciate a link back of some sort - the button's on the sidebar or a text link works great too.

Oh and stop and see some of the others that link up, you might discover your next favorite book!
